TTMT #434 – jewells68 – August 3, 2022 – Side by Side

In which I show a finished top for Project Linus and talk about what else I’ve been up to. Covid has really scattered my brain. I left the house today in mismatched flop flops.

    1. I was like no way am I stashing those blocks again. This needs to be done! lol. It’s VERY scrappy. I need to not let things drag out like that. I love them when I’m doing them and then they hang around unfinished and then I don’t like them as much and have trouble finishing them.

    1. I hope so too. You are right, it feels really good to hang up another finished top and get Brayden’s quilt out to him finally. I started both quilts in 2020.

  1. I am glad you are feeling better. It stinks to be sick.

I like your house and tree quilt. I just finished the back of one of the t-shirt quilts I am working on.

      1. No, the Tshirt quilts that are double sided, use about 40 tshirts. Some of the fronts and backs are used. It kind of depends on his on the back. If it’s a concert schedule it usually gets used. If it’s the sponsor of baseball team, then no. If it’s the kids baseball number, then yes. If I make a double sided tshirt quilt, I do two different designs for the front and back. I tell my customer that the outer border on the back will not be even, but close. So the top could be 3″, the sides 3-4″ and the bottom 2″. I’ll message you a couple pictures.

  2. Hey, I remember that shirt! It looks great on you.

I also need to make some hearts. They are good for the soul.

The trees & houses quilt top looks great. It really looks like it was planned to be that way from the start.

You made such great progress once you decided to get going on your t-shirt quilt. I am sure the nostalgia is REAL.

Keep avoiding the plague, Miss P!

  3. Glad you are mending up! I completely do that to myself as well. You can’t put it away one more time! I never regret getting it done and out of my hair!

I’m looking forward to seeing the T-shirt quilt

    1. The t-shirt quilt is currently put back away in a bin with the leftover tshirt fabrics, but I have cut all of them into squares or rectangles. I have taken photos of all the current tees so I can start designing a layout, but it’s going to the back of the queue again for a while. I need to quilt Joel’s quilt, quilt up more linus quilt tops, and also piece a quilt for a friend that I have had on my list for some time. That’s another one I want done and out.
