This week I talk about riding my bicycle across the state of Iowa in RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa). The shortest day was 57 miles and the longest was 100 miles. with a total of 462 miles. This bucket list experience is crossed off my list. I stopped at the 2 quilt shops that were open when I went past and bought some fabric at each shop. http://www.cornercurvequilts.com

Congrats on completing this event! Sounds like you had a really good time.

Riding my bike and eating all day and not worry about the calories was a bonus. Pie, tenderloins, pork chops, corn on the cob, ice cream and pie. I didn’t lose, and I didn’t gain. I burned 4000 calories on the 100 mile day.

Michelle, that is so cool! I saw some cars on my trip to Illinois that mentioned the ride and I had no idea that you were participating. How amazing!

It was an amazing experience. Something I have wanted to do for over 25 years. If I ever do it again, I’ll up grade to a road bike. Mine is a hybrid and geared lower.
