TTMT #602 – Hanging In There

December 8! We’ve almost made it to the end of this year. I’m hanging in there and hope you are, too.

Edited to add: I just found a heavy white fabric in my stash that might work for the patches because *of course* I did.  😂

  1. Glad you are hangin’ in there. The snowflakes turned out very nice. Another great mail package, glad I was able to participate. The knitted scarf is wonderful.

    1. Hanging in there is the best I can do at the moment. I do tend to be resilient and I’ll admit that I had some really good therapy when I was younger that gave me some excellent tools for paying attention to what’s going on in my head.

  2. It’s so nice to have you so upbeat again! Yes, it seems like every time 2020 gets bad, it gets worse!

The Get-Well Brigade was definitely a meeting of the minds (we were each planning something individually, but getting together was just better for you).

    The patch is PERFECT!

Oh, that gingerbread house is fabulous! So glad the Nechi is working out for you. Sometimes a gift to yourself is more than the gift, but an added feeling.

Great tip to not twist your chain!

What a GREAT dishcloth–yes, that’s just you. And cute, soft Mary Jane slippers! Wow. And that infinity scarf! That’s love!

So glad you’re having a kitty day…and so happy to here the lilt in your voice again!!

  3. The snowflakes are very sweet.. they look lovely.

The cowl looks really neat.. the colours are just beautiful.

The coffee bar is actually not chocolate… just coffee, somehow. I think, anyway? I don’t know. It’s also from a Calgary company. I’m told it’s literally just like… coffee in bar form, but having not tried it maybe it is held together with chocolate haha! Anyway, I don’t know if you noticed with the cat socks, but the one pair has the cat beside a plant on one sock and knocking the plant off the shelf on the other sock. They’ve got lots of clever pairings… to raise money for the food bank this year they did a corona virus pair with hand sani on one sock and toilet paper on the other. Just silly and fun.

The squishy slippers and the kitty infinity scarf look fantastic. Lovely things from Sarah!

    1. Okay, so I did not read the coffee bar and just assumed it was coffee and chocolate. Now that I’ve read the package, I feel like I need to save it for an emergency! I promise to report when I do try it out.

  4. What a fantastic way to end the efforts of the Get Well Brigade. Sarah in Houston has outdone herself, so wonderful! Those slippers are super cute! And what fun socks from Kristel! And reading her description, coffee in solid form sounds actually fantastic to me somehow. Hmmm.

Oh the snowflakes are tinier than I imagined, how sweet! Might be cute ornaments for gift packages or even a mobile of some sort on invisible thread

I was just sitting here thinking, I wonder if she’s just got a white canvas tote she wouldn’t mind cutting up for the patches and then I saw you found some fabric. Yay!

    1. I could tell by the squish of the packages they were all knitted before I opened them and I could barely contain my glee!!

I probably do have a white canvas tote, but the reduced mobility plus very limited access to my sewing room makes it impossible to DIG. I had about a yard of a heavy white muslin stashed with my embroidery fabric. I felt really dumb when I found quite literally in plain sight! I did manage to score some block twill, so I might try that for some of the other patch designs.

  5. Oh I’m sorry for the bump in the road. You’ve been waiting for a long time.

The Get Well Brigade was definitely fun for us.
The gingerbread house is fabulous! I haven’t done freestanding yet. I keep meaning to do it.

    Oh the yarn is pretty.

Oh Sarah’s Mary Janes are so adorable! Oh the kitties! She does the most amazing things with yarn.

Oh I’m so glad we were able to pull it out. Hugs

    1. Today marks week 13. The good news is I can be up and about a lot more, the bad news is using the scooter makes my back hurt. It’s a small price to pay to be at least somewhat active!

You all went above and beyond with the planning. I can also tell you had a great time with it! ♥
