TTMT Video

Ttmt #51 A bit of Crafty and life updates

Sorry for the rambling. October kicked my bum. Things are settling down after what has been a ridiculously stressful month. Getting back to crafting and some of my other routines are my focus for the next few months.

If you skip the video watching, I make a call out at the end for anyone interested in attending to Quilt Con in February to reach out about maybe sharing an Air BnB or Hotel. It’s in Austin, Tx this year near a certain someone we all know & love.It could be a fun TTMT weekend! Message me if you are interested.

ps the kitties are Lia – 10 month old Flame Point Siamese that was found abandon in a trailer last summer. She was pregnant at the time and only one little one survived, hence the little orange man is Frito. Frito is 3 months old. They  are a ridiculously bonded pair that we couldn’t separate.

Pss I do own different shirts. I apparently just like this one a lot. It’s in the 3 of 4 of the last videos.

  1. I am so very sorry for the loss in your family.
It’ll take some time to get settled into the new place. With so many things going on (hopefully) working in your space will help.
The pattern is looking awesome. I can’t wait to see the final layout!

    1. Thanks

It will take sometime to settle in. It always does and this time involved a considerable more stress . I just need to give it time.

Hopefully I’ll be posting it soon. I have some fun ideas for quilting it as well. I can’t decide if I want to wait to post until after I quilt it or not.

  2. Hi Jennifer! *waving* I’m trying to get back into the commenting and videoing groove after being away from it for—ummm….I think since before the summer!
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. And it sure makes sense if you’re a bit scattered and unfocused on some things with so much going on in your life. Good luck figuring out how to make the new space work for you–I’m sure it will gel over time.
I’m very intrigued by the design you are working up with your strips swap fabric.
And the kitties are soooo cute! Love how tough the Frito is–he thinks he’s a lion.

    1. Frito is a hilarious little lion. He will give the 75 pound dog a growl. Little dude isn’t aware of his size. Momma gonna take awhile. She has a lot of trauma to overcome.

We have moved a lot and I’m generally pretty good about finding my routine, but this time was just to much at once. I need to really just let go of my ideas about where I should be and be ok with where I am. Which I think I can do that know.

I’m sure the new space will come together in time.
I will post when I finish my swap top. I haven’t decided if I’m gonna write the pattern up or just keep it for me yet. It would be a very intensive pattern to write for others.

      Glad your back! Happy Crafting

  3. I’ve been thinking about you a lot lady. I’m glad you’re home and getting settled back in again.

QuiltCon 2020 is a BIG OLD YES. If you do get an AirBNB, I will gladly chip in and come spend the night so we can get some real hanging out time. The more TTMTers the better! ♥

You already know how I feel about your orange beans. 😺😺😺

Your jelly roll project is going to be spectacular!!

Have fun at Quilt Festival! I’m sure I’ll miss being there, but my planning to not go this year definitely works out for the best with everything else we have going on at my house. Some of the gals on Facebook in the Designer group were talking about maybe having a meetup if you’re interested. 🙂

    1. Sort of home, I have to go again to help sort things out for a few days. But I am definitely specifically focusing on fixing my routines. I’m so out of sorts. It’s been particularly hard to just relax. So that’s the focus to getting there over the next few months.

Of course, the Orange Beans are the best.

I am very much looking forward to Quilt Fest. I definitely don’t plan a to do meet up on Friday. The person I’m going with is a relationship I need to nurture for other reasons. So if I pan one it will need to be Saturday. I’m not sure I’ll go both days. I need see how my week plays out.

Yes to Quilt Con 2020! Come on folks…. join in!

  4. I’m so sorry for your loss, Jennifer, and know first hand how much is involved with the loss of a parent and the stuff to deal with in the estate. So I know how stressful and overwhelming that can be. I hope you are able to find a way to make your space have the flow you need to do what you want to do when you want to do. It’s definitely hard to find that groove but when you do it’s wonderful.

Looking forward to seeing the finished TTMT strip quilt. I have not started mine. I’m thinking that may need to be the plan for my vacation this week is to get that done.

Would love to go to quilt con but may instead try to go to festival next year. We shall see. Jen can tell you I rarely plan too far in advance.

    1. Thanks Jewels. Fortunately, the estate is spelled out in a will. It’s the filings for local to federal governments that are a bit much. Just a lot of misc stuff to take care of. My mother in law died without a will and it was a mess. So I can at least avoid that happening again. The rest will just take time.

I’m hoping to finish the top for the stripe quilt this week before I’m out of town again. The travel is wrecking my schedule.

Quilt Festival will be awesome too! Obviously I’ll go to Festival. I just figured I’d see if anyone wants to join in to QuiltCon. It’s so close to me I have to go!

  5. I’m so sorry for your loss, Jennifer.

The TTMT strips quilt is looking really interesting already, it’ll be really cool to see what it actually is in the end.

I would love to come out for Quiltcon, but alas I don’t think I’ll be able to make it happen. I always said I’d go when it came back to Austin, but it’s in February, isn’t it? I’ve got a family thing already planned for February that will require a trip. Sigh. Some other year, I suppose!
