In which I talk about relaxing, rethinking my Project Room layout AGAIN, the tumbler quilt, Project Linus, and thrifting with my daughter. Nice and short this week!
A bit of rambling but I still managed to keep it under 5 minutes. Not a lot of show but some tell about what’s currently happening in the Project Room. Currently binding three quilts for Project Linus that will be turned in at the December meeting and holiday party. TTFN!
In the grand scheme of things, my woes are completely inconsequential, but in the interest of getting this thing uploaded as quickly as possible I didn’t edit them all out. So yes, I am whining about stuff that doesn’t really matter too much. It’s only money and I have so many things to be happy and thankful for… my family and our relatively good health, my job, my friends, my home, and so much more. Life is good. Stay crafty my friends!
In which I show you a corner of my gradually evolving craft space… I keep plugging away at it as I try to get it to be the most efficient use of the limited space that I have. Also talk a bit about current Project Linus quilts and my friend’s memorial quilt. Also I am pretty sure I need a new supreme slider for FMQ. Apparently I am pretty rough on my sewing equipment.
Hope the video looks ok, using an older camera this week. I am seriously getting concerned about my brain and possibly early senility. I have lost my camera that Jennifer gave me for my birthday a few years ago. I love it so much, but I’m pretty sure at this point that it fell into one of the boxes I donated to goodwill last week. Thankfully I have a backup (that ALSO used to belong to Jennifer) so at least I was able to record a video this week. I didn’t want to miss!
I talk about the state of the project room, the state of my quilting setup, and what’s on the horizon, as well as what’s in progress right now. Also a crappy hat to visor redo. Fun times!
In the midst of an early morning haze, I talk about trying to get 3 more quilts done to turn in this weekend to Project Linus, hoping to meet my 2018 goal of 13 blankets donated. Bear with me… I filmed this before 5am… because Phebe had to be at work at 4:30am and I woke up and decided to drive her since I was up. This happens at least a couple times each week. Ken and I are currently enjoying our 2nd pot of coffee, I’ve already showered, and it’s not even 6am yet! So as soon as I’m done uploading and posting I am off to piece binding!
Good morning! Tuesdays are so busy for me these days that I usually try to record on Monday evenings… but I was rather wiped out last night from lack of sleep the night before, SO I totally forgot to record last night. I am still in the throes of rearranging and updating my Project Room for better flow and useability, so I am just going to skip recording a video this week with plans to record a slightly longer than my usual 5-6 minute video for next Tuesday when I am done with the rearranging and construction, and hopefully also done with at least 3 quilts for Linus to meet my 2018 target of 13 blankets. Sounds like it’s going to be a busy week…
I look forward to watching your videos. Have a good, crafty week, and you will see me next Tuesday!
In which I talk a bit about Fall Quilt Festival in Houston, and show off what I bought there. I can’t express my emotions as I walked through all the quilt exhibits. Just… surreal!
So yeah, finished the zig zag quilt top! I would like to finish it in time to turn in at Project Linus this Saturday, but I don’t know that that’s a realistic goal. Other than that, just trying to continue to improve my sewing/quilting space.
Thinking out loud is never a good idea in a video, but that’s what you get this week. My brain is clearly not completely back to normal creatively. Trying to make up my mind about a Project Linus quilt which will not get turned in until May, because I just realized last night that the meeting is THIS SATURDAY and there is no way I will get that top finished, let alone quilted and bound, in time. So I’m going to try to finish the crocheted blanket I’ve been working on for months. I have a plan. Now I just need to make it happen.
