TTMT #68 October 12, 2021 – Ruler Work

This past week I took another Kim Werth quilting class. This one was ruler work. I learned better techniques and more about curved cross hatching.

I put some of the units together for another LaVerne quilt. I quilted two of my Flowers From Friends mosaic projects. Still have a couple more to finish.

A friend brought her Granddaughter over for a sewing lesson. I helped her make a cape for her Fluer Delacour costume. Plus some more sewing.

  1. You seem to really enjoy doing the mosaics, and they are really pretty.
I love the greens and purples in that quilt part hanging behind you.
I have decided I really need an in person ruler work class before I try rulers again. I have my machine set up for it but also need another ruler or to to do more experimenting.

  2. Your ruler work looks’s definitely a fun thing to learn. I have done a few quilts with rulers. Mostly I find I used them for small parts of a quilts that need more precision areas. I do like learning to work with them better.

I love the pretty mosaics blocks.

    Happy Crafting

  3. The blocks behind you looked like eyes to me before I took a closer look at them, haha.. it’s going to make a beautiful quilt though, great colours!

The ruler work is really nice… I like that curved crosshatch.. nice look to that.
