  1. Deep Breathe! Let is out slowly. You got this girlfriend. The website will be great when you get it launched. It is a lot of work and so many decisions.

Love the fabrics. Again we are working on the same wave length. The current pattern I am working on uses those colors.

Take care and give Henry a pat on the head for me.

  2. Thanks.

I feel like we are making progress every day on the website, and it looks just like I want it…so that’s good. I don’t remember if I edited it out, but we were working with an image for him to show me how to do something, and it was the photo of the swap applique I made for you. I said, “That’s the only photo I have of that one, because it’s hanging on a wall in Michigan with my friend Michelle.” I told him about you, and he says he coded your website. Once I switched people from Cassandra to Matthew things are remarkably easier. I may be delusional (don’t burst my bubble until after we launch if I am), but I just think that once it is set up I will know what I am doing and addiing things at that point will just take a lot less work and decision-making–meaning more time to sleep.

I love the Mardi Gras colors. We seem to stay on the same wavelength.

Henry appreciated your pat on the head.

  3. Hang in there! It’s a lot to launch something. The busy work of doing the creative things can be exhausting.

Pretty colors in the fabric. It looks like a beautiful panel.

    Hope you are getting there.

    1. Thanks. I’m getting there. The website is coming along and almost all of the decisions have been made. I have a new designer on it, and he’s just been fabulous at moving it along. The holdup is getting what I need quilted and bound. If I had just started with a part of the website and expanded I wouldn’t be quilting like a mad-woman right now. But I’m jumping in with all four paws, so the workload is self-inflicted. Getting close, though.

  4. Oh my, continued good luck with your website. It is always so much work.

Can you share the link to your local quilt store? I have a friend who has been trying to source Mardi Gras fabric locally without any luck. The ones you have are gorgeous! She’s a fellow volunteer and has helped me A LOT and I’d love to get her some fat quarters.

    1. Thanks so much. I’m getting closer.

The quilt shop where I got the panels doesn’t have a website. She has a FB page (no shopping). She mostly ignores it. She also doesn’t always answer the phone unless she knows who it is. The shop is “Cottage Creations” in St. Gabriel (a suburb of Baton Rouge. Her FB page is https://www.facebook.com/Cottage-Creations-Quilts-125937300804678. Her name is Daisy Comeaux. Her second-best bet is to IM her from her page…but that’s even iffy. Her best bet is to have me ask her to call your friend. She’s VERY helpful and accessible once she knows you…I know I’m making her sound the opposite of that. Even if I send her an email she doesn’t call me back. I see her several times a week and she’ll always take my call. She can try to contact her (use me as a referral) or I can make the introduction.

The other shops that have TONS of Mardi Gras fabric are Chateau Sew & Sew and Mes Amis in New Orleans. Chateau Sew & Sew is really big on local artists, so she has a lot of unique Mardi Gras fabric. Mes Amis is really into New Orleans history, and has a great selection and great New Orleans patterns. Chateau Sew & Sew is just chateausew.com (young progressive owner). Mes Amis is mesamisquiltshop.com (wonderful older woman who is a fabulous quilter).

  5. Catching up on TTMT videos this morning. That panel is so beautiful, and the companion fabrics are perfect! I wish you all the best on your website, I would definitely need a lot of heklp with doing something like that myself.

    1. I need to catch up on videos.

The website is just a ton of decisions and a ton of time. Getting my patterns and quilts ready to go onto the website is what’s killing me. I do have a friend helping with some of that. I’m getting close. I was hoping (optimistically) to launch on 10/17, but if it’s by the end of the month I’ll be happy. There’s no real deadline (except money). I have so many different things that need to be done that at least I can choose what I’m in the mood for. Then Molly started acting up, so I couldn’t quilt for a couple of days. But overall, it’s good.

    1. Thanks so much for checking on me. I’m good — just still crazy busy. I am creating like mad (designing, sewing, longarming). While I am definitely in my happy place, I am tired. But my plan is to slow down in a few weeks. I hope you are doing fabulously. I’m hoping to have a video this week.
