TTMT 7/15/21: I’m gonna ‘splain it to you, Lucy.

I’m sorry I haven’t recorded for a few weeks. I had planned to get back to it this week, but, alas, no video.

I haven’t been very crafty lately but I have done some cleaning and organizing in my sewing room and I can find things a bit better now. But that’s not the main reason I haven’t been recording or crafting. The main reason is because I’ve been depressed for a few weeks. My nephew and his wife were riding their motorcycle (he was driving; she was on the back) about 3 weeks ago and they were in a wreck. Lolita was killed and Mike was seriously injured. He was in ICU for 2 weeks with surgery, several broken bones (including the sternum) and was on feeding and breathing tubes. He was finally moved to a regular floor last week with no tubes. I heard yesterday that he will soon be moving to a rehab center. As bad as his physical injuries were, the loss of his wife is a much deeper injury.

Then this past weekend I found out that a friend of about 15 years, her brother and 20 year old son were in a car accident. Her son, Josh, was killed. Josh was one of the sweetest children I’ve ever known. He had Down’s Syndrome and autism. Although he was nonverbal, he was a loving child.

So, this has not been a very happy month for me. And I need to get back to the sewing room for some quilt therapy.
