TTMT #405 – jewells68 – June 8, 2021 – Jewells’ & Jennifer’s Excellent Adventure, aka Retreat Pt2

In which I show and tell what I made and/or finished during my long weekend BFF Retreat with Jennifer O., including the finished quilt from Jennifer’s “Chocolate Box” pattern which I made for our host, dubbed “Long Live Rock”, the matching “cat quilt” for his kitty, and the tops I pieced during retreat, including one Jennifer pieced and sent home with me. 2 are already quilted! Also I have some news that will affect my quality time in my Project Room. So make sure you watch all the way through. This one is longer than usual, but there are a lot of photos at the end.

  1. Congratulations on the new job. It looks like Zane was a good helper at your retreat. All the quilt tops turned out great. The chocolate box quilt for Zane’s human turned out really nice. Glad you had a good time at your retreat. Rock on!

    1. Thank you! I’m nervous but also excited to start fresh. Once Zane finally warmed up to us he was sweet. He just had a rough start in life, I think, and is still getting used to being in his own place.

  2. You two were so productive. You got more done in a couple of days that I do in a year! But the main thing you got to do is spend some quality time with your bestie. Congrats on the new job!!! I hope it is a wonderful new experience for you.

    1. I am so glad we had the chance to do this. It just fell together so perfectly it was meant to be.

I am excited about the new job but also so very nervous because I literally know one person there, with whom I worked many years ago.

  3. There is so much to love in this video.
Congratulations on the new job! On to bigger and better things 💪🏻

I think my favorite is the VW top. It’s so fun! I always wanted a bug in the worse way…original one.

The matching Human and Kitty quilts are amazing! I bet the will be super loved.

    Happy Crafting

    1. We needed this time together so very badly. And it fell into place at the perfect time. I’ll have to postpone the other travels I was planning for later in the summer, sadly.

I think the VW top is also my favorite from this retreat. It was so organically grown from that one giant block and what was in both our fabrics we brought with us. I just love putting quilts together that way.

I don’t think I could be more pleased with how those quilts turned out. I had been trying to think of what to do with the leftover block, and then we were talking over a bottle of wine near the end of the retreat and it was like OMG the leftover block! So we planned it and then when my daughter brought me the car the last day and I took her home I grabbed all the stuff we would need from my house and took it back with me. So happy with the result! And I think the photo he sent me of Zane cuddled up on both of them says it all.

    1. You have been in the room of the infamous Hogwarts Stairs! lol
This all came together so quickly and perfectly, it was obviously meant to be. One last fling before I go back to the corporate world. I am so happy we got this time together. *glomps*

  4. The big quilt and the donation quilts are fun.Of course, the cat quilt is the best – at least to the cat. I love the VW Bug, too. Soooo happy you got a new job. I’m sure it’s a big relief!

    1. The bug is my favorite I think. And I’ve already made changes to the mask panel quilt. Now I like it. I’m so glad he sent that photo of the cat snuggled up with both of the quilts. It was too cute.

I’m nervous about the new job, but I just keep telling myself I don’t have to stay if I hate it. I don’t think I will, but it’s nice to know you aren’t stuck and have options. I would have loved another month off, but it’s going to be nice to get out of the house more often.
