TTMT #42- April 13, 2021 – Fun Feathers and More

Made more Cy Star alternate design blocks. Then I took the Fun and Fancy Feather class with Kim Werth at Accomplish Quilting. Learned a lot about feathers and I think I finally got the hang of the hump and bump feather. The sword feather actually turned out really neat. Swirl feathers are fun to make. I look forward to adding some of these feathers to my quilted projects.

    1. It was a fun all day class. A little lecture, practice on paper and then machine. Then repeat with the next feather. Now I want to quilt feathers but am still piecing.


  1. I thought your feathers are really looking good. I bet it was good to get the work in on the different variations. I really liked the way the one looked kind of in the middle where the feathers are just a single curving line (instead of really outlining a feather) that ends in a curl. But they all look good. I am not very comfortable FMQ yet, but I have one kind of feather (which might be the hump and bump one you referenced) that I’m pretty happy with how it looks, so I have used that one several times in borders. But otherwise I definitely need to learn to do other feathers, too. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you for all the comments. The feather class was fun. The Scrappy Stars project was well received by the guild. The dresses were fun to make.
