  1. Congratulations on winning the UFQ challenge.
Sounds like some of your plants are doing well. Herbs are great, my sage, thyme and mint come back every year. I need to get outside and uncover the garden area. But I think the parsley servived the winter. Enjoy growing your plants.
Happy picking paper. But that.means another project is getting closer to being done.

  2. Congratulations on your UFO challenge win! That’s so fun!

I’ve had good luck with herbs in the past even though I’m generally not very good with plants. But this year, maybe to make me feel less sad during COVID, all of my house plants have been doing really well (except one orchid that died), so I’m also very tempted to get into the outside flowers game.

Ugh so frustrating when something goes wrong with the basting and unpicking is required. Hope it goes by quickly and you can get back to it.

  3. Rainey! How very exciting! Congratulations on winning the challenge. You totally deserve it. I hope you get to show us some video or photos of your quilts hanging in all their glory!

I am more than happy to be blamed for your gardening. I’ve done a ton of reading about plants that do well in my area, and that’s helped a lot. You did a great job with your patio garden. I *just* planted herbs, too. I feel like you get why I like working in my yard so much! I hope everything continues to do well. ♥

I’ve got my Hobbit (There & Back Again) quilt out for unpicking the quilting. I was having trouble with the machine I was using at the time and it’s sat and waited for YEARS. Oops!

  4. I’m wondering if the issue with the spray basting is that you are using poly batting? Maybe they don’t play nicely together. Maybe you need to try a different basting spray with that type of batting? Just throwing out ideas. I have used June tailor spray baste with polyester fleece, so I don’t know why it wouldn’t work with poly batting, but I’m no chemist, lol.

Congrats on winning the UFO challenge, not that I am suprised, because you totally kicked serious butt on that challenge.

You garden sounds so nice. I haven’t planted anything yet, still too early here. Lilies might come back next year. Maybe they are just dying off because they are early bloomers. If not, hey it was 25 cents. Worth a shot, right? Did you say you got mint? If not I bet it would do really well there, and it’s great to be able to just grab a sprig and put it in your tea.

  5. Glad you’re enjoying your gardening. It is fun to see them grow. The freeze in Houston caused our plants to bud and flower more than they ever had. It’s so great!! Hope your herbs continue to grow well for you.

  6. Congrats on winning the UFO challenge…so exciting!

That’s really too bad about having to unpick stitching… stupid 505! That’s rough!

Sounds like you’ve been having fun with the gardening – I hope things are going well! I’ve had bad luck with strawberries (like… bought a $20 plant and only got 5 or 6 strawberries off it), but if the plant itself stays alive, you can keep it forever (or ages anyway) and maybe next year you’ll get fruit, even if this year it’s just greenery.
