TTMT #351 – jewells68 – April 21, 2020 – Lost and Found

In which I talk about things I can’t currently show you, such as shelves that need painting, drawers that need painting, and the memory quilt for a friend.

  1. Your pigtails remind me of my daughter. When her hair is shorter, it is very curly. Her pig tails end up looking like Curly Pom Poms on her. So cute!

My work space is a disaster right now. I just finished a top today and need cleaning up at the top of my list later this week. My furniture issues will be solved in the next few months sometime and that will help tremendously. I look forward to seeing you updated furniture.

We too are looking for the good. So many people are in worst situations. We are healthy and employed. Honestly can’t ask for more than that!

    Stay safe and happy crafting/painting

    1. It’s much better now, but I really tore that room apart because I freaking KNEW that memory quilt was in there somewhere and it was driving me crazy that I couldn’t find it. I finished the hand embroidery on the the first row of blocks. I’m embroidering some lyrics from one of her favorite songs by her all time favorite artist into the solid pink squares to add some interest and even more personalization. I really wanted to visit my brother this year in Dallas. At the rate I’m going with this quilt maybe by the time I can actually travel there I can just bring it with me and hand deliver it.

Plan to sand the areas that have a bit of putty this week and then I should be painting everything by the time the weekend rolls around.

  2. Sounds like you’re keeping busy even if you can’t really show it! I think the embroidery for the memory quilt sounds like a great idea – you didn’t start with too much material, so anything you can add that will add to the memories for your friend will be great.

    1. Even though it started as a memory quilt with her mom’s pjs, and the pink fabric was her mom’s favorite color, my friend is such a good soul and generous heart that I got the idea of adding lyrics from one of her favorite songs by her all time favorite artist. I know she will treasure this gift. She was quoting these same lyrics in a post about her mom so I feel like it fits perfectly for a quilt that’s really about them both.
