TTMT #554 – Hindsight

In which I have a surprise, talk about some charitable projects, and share my 2019 finishes!

I’d also like to clarify that I am not retiring from the internet or from TTMT OR from Fandom in Stitches. I’ve had lots of questions about that since announcing the closing of the Sewhooked shop. The shop is closed, but I’m not going anywhere! Sewhooked.com will continue to exist, but instead of pursuing quilting as a business, I am now doing it just for charity and for fun! This doesn’t mean there will never be a new design from me, there just won’t be any new ones for sale. If you have any questions, please do ask!

  1. Your hair looks wonderful, and such a great cause!!!
I love seeing the finished projects at the end of the year. We don’t realized how much we’ve gotten done because we are always looking ahead for what’s next. It’s nice to look back.
The OZ org sounds like such a good idea. I’ll see what I can do 🙂

    1. Thank you, Jeanie! This chop has been a LONG time coming!

I back all of my photos up to Google Photos and I’ve been making an effort to have a “Finishes” album for each year. That helps a lot when I feel like I’m not getting anything done!

The OZ group is very grassroots, which is right up my alley.

  2. Oh my goodness! You look adorable!!! I love it!

It’s lovely to see the reflection on the years projects! You had a lot going on this year and still have a lot of projects to show for it.

    Happy Crafting!

I haven’t committed to Aussie Quilts. I would like to do one or two but honestly it may or may not happen. I definitely will contribute money and possibly a craft or two.

    Omg I love the hair!

    1. Ha, thank you! It’s been so hard to not share the hair before today!! My daughter went with me to the stylist and we picked a photo out of the book. How’s that for planning?!

I will admit that this video helped me a lot with the “I haven’t gotten anything done” feeling. The truth is that most of this was done before August, with a little bit here and there, after. Still, I do feel like I got some things done, and I have a huge stack of my orphan blocks tops to quilt.

You should do what works best for you. If that’s not a quilt, fine. There are SO MANY causes to support right now.

ALSO, I haven’t forgotten that we are due a get-together. Life has just been so freaking crazy.

      1. I know it’s been a crazy few months for me. We will get it done. Meanwhile the delay just added quilts/blankets for Linus. ❤️

I always like to make quilts when a need is so high. But I know I will only feel stressed by the commitment. So if I manage it great if not it’s ok.

  3. You know I love the hair. I bet it feels fantastic!
I know the last half of the year was super stressful and busy and just so much, but the retrospective shows you got so very much done. And it doesn’t even show all those awesome auction baskets you put together in the fall!
Enjoy branching out charity-wise and doing some things for YOU as well. This is seeming to be a year of stepping back and refreshing our priority list.

    1. Most of my finishes were prior to August, but you’re absolutely right, seeing what I did accomplish felt quite good. I’ve been keeping an album to add finishes to and that helped a lot in the making of this video! I have some things in mind for myself for this year but no time to think about it much quite yet!

I am loving the hair. I thought I would grieve a bit, but I have been planning on doing this for so long, my reaction has been more of a FINALLY.

  4. Just LOVE you hair.

I think I’ll make a folder of my completions, too, this coming year. I have knitting on Ravelry but it’s hard to know what I did this year. Loved seeing all you quilts!

    Hugs

  5. Love your hair! And the sweater.
Thanks for sharing your finishes. I have a lot more “starts” in 2019, but 2020 will be my year of finishes!
