  1. Happy New Year to you, too! I’m a huge Dr fan, too. Tom Baker is my doctor, but I love David Tennant and Matt Smith, too. All the new generation doctors are loads of fun.
I was thinking about making the Bonnie Hunter, too, but she has sooooo many pieces and blocks in her designs. I was excited because it was based on Tx. bluebonnets, but that was just in color, so I changed my mind!
Have a great fun day working on your quilts.

    1. I Didn’t start watching him until the 9th one. So every now and then I go back and scan through the originals. I’ve made it to I think the 4th doctor. So I still have a long way to go.
I have made several of Bonnie’s quilts. I said a few years ago that I needed to start challenging myself, and that was a good place to start.

  2. Happy New Year!

I’ll be interested to see what you do with the Bonnie Hunter quilt.. I’ve never tried one of her patterns – they’re always so intense they scare me off – but they always look so good. I think your substitutions will be nice as well. I like a brown quilt.

The purchased Lone Star looks really nice.. I think you’re idea for getting rid of the stains is the best possible idea – cutting that white right off will work great. How big is the quilt?

    1. I haven’t actually measured it, but cut down will make a nice lap quilt. I’m saving that for one of them days I just want something easy to work on.
I always love the Bonnie quilts, but I never use her exact colors. I’ve decided to wait until the reveal so I can make a decision on the final fabrics.

  3. Happy New Year

I haven’t tried a Bonnie Hunter pattern in a while. I remember finding her online years ago and being so excited about her stuff. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

The Lone Star is very pretty. I like you idea on how to clean it up. I tried a Lone Star once many years ago. I didn’t get very far. It was a god awful mess. I haven’t tried again. I am experienced enough now to understand the difficulty in those angles.

Your paint by diamond looks fab!

  4. Thank you, I usually just power through her quilts. Her stuff was a good learning project for me. I was always scared to go too small of pieces, but after doing a couple of them I am more confident in my work. The first one I made was soo many mistakes, but the great thing about using small pieces is there’s so much going on you really can’t notice.
Lone Star I think will always be one of my favorites, and Thank you.

  5. A very happy (and belated!) new year to you. You are going to be one busy lady this year! I love the Lone Star and definitely can it on display. Your idea for saving it is great, too. I need to go watch today’s video to see what’s new!

David Tenant is also my daughter’s favorite. He might just be mine, too, though I’m nowhere near as big a fan as she is. The diamond painting is amazing!

  6. Happy New Year to you too!
I think your idea for saving the lone star quilt is a good one.
I have been fan of the dr since I was very young. My oldest brother got me started on it back with #3, Jon Pertwee. My all time fave is still #4, but I really enjoyed 9, 10, and 12. I have seen 13’s first season. I thought the actress did a fantastic job with the scripts she was given, but the writing wasn’t up to previous standards, and I’m not a fan of the dr having multiple companions. I won’t give up watching and loving the series, though! And when the current season shows up at my library I will definitely watch it (I no longer have cable).
