  1. Oh the bags are looking good.

    I lost my chart lol
I probably will start a new one because I did like keeping track. Or I may just do like a crafting journal. I often forget things I’ve done through the year. I do like seeing the progress.

2019 a doozy. Despite impending political shit storm we call election year, I’m still looking forward to a new year. I have cleansed online accounts of people that are constantly in the throes of it in there. So I at least hope to avoid to much unnecessary BS. Sigh

    Happy New Year!

    1. I’m enjoying the bags! It feels good, but strange, to be making something other than a quilt. Today before I do any more sewing I need to oil my machine. I might put my walking foot on too. The canvas is pretty thick! I had never sewn canvas before this. I’m going to be looking for remnants every time I am at Joann now, lol.

I am just so glad to be going into this election cycle without 24 hour cable news channels, lol. But aside from that shit storm I am looking forward to this year as well. I avoid all political talk on social media, but anyone that shows up in my feed spewing bile will be instantly blocked. I’m not messing around with that BS.

  2. I thought I commented here, but I guess it was just hangouts conversation! I love that all the bags are coming out so differently. Each one will be unique for the recipients.

I’ve kept up with my list, but I don’t know what I’ll do for this year. I still have a couple of UFOs and now my Trek quilt is a ufo. I’d really like to get those few things done and *finally* make fabric covers for my sewing machines. I keep the plastic covers on them, but they are wearing out from use. 2020. Let’s do this!

    1. Last year really set me back regarding getting things done. things on my list anyway. If I could go back in time I would stop myself before making that deal with the devil named Bruce that caused such disarray in my crafty life. I didn’t get any of the family quilts off my list even started, let alone finished. I’m going to dig my list out sometime this month and go down it one by one and reevaluate what’s on it and what I want to have happen. Time for some crafty soul searching, I think. At least I’m not starting the year behind on Linus, thanks to you quilting that orphan PoD I pieced back in Cloudcroft. I’m going to bind that today I think, so I can get it washed and ready to turn in this coming Saturday.

But yeah I think it’s time I got to make some things for myself this year.

  3. Canvas is a great idea for the bags – that’ll make them nice and sturdy. They’re going to be a fun group to give away. I don’t know why I assumed you’d keep the ones that weren’t quite the right pattern haha..I think I’d have tried a couple things and then thought, well, okay, not that for a gift then. You’ve got such a good work-through-it-figure-it-out mentality though. (I feel like I always say that when you’re in the middle of figuring out how to… turn lobster fabric into a baby quilt or whatever, but I super admire it. I’m more of a give it up and move on type for sure.)

    1. As far as I’m concerned, if it is a bag I would use, it’s good enough for a gift for someone. The ones I like the most will go to the people I like the most, fo course! lol
