TTMT #332 – jewells68 – November 12, 2019 – Notes from the Sandbox

I got on a plane and did a thing! I had so much fun on retreat and can’t wait until the next one. Seriously people, get together with your crafty friends and do the thing!

  1. Love Love Love!!!
I agree crafty time with crafty friends is the best. You look happy & refreshed. So glad you’ll got together.
I love the lobster 🦞 quilt! I always enjoy how you take the challenge that no one else is willing to do. It looks great.

    Happy Crafting

    1. I just couldn’t believe no one else saw the potential of the lobsters. I guess they just couldn’t see past the fabric as a whole instead of visualizing it cut up with other fabrics? I don’t really know. It was pretty overwhelming before it was cut up.

Very happy and refreshed but sleeping a LOT since I came home.

      1. There are a lot of quilters that follow patterns and fabric lines to a T. Individual fabrics especially something outside the norm can get lost on a person. I love them because you make them into something adorable!

Sleeping off the sewing, margaritas, or both? πŸ˜‚

  2. YAY RETREAT! My show & tell will be next week, but I am so glad to see yours. Also, those lobsters are totally getting quilted this week!

Sarah is singing lobster legs as I type this…

Can we do it all again now??

  3. You look great – amazing how refreshing a little quilting with friends can be.

You just don’t know how happy it makes me to see some of my quilt tops finished and ready to go to someone to love! Thank you for that!!!!

I also love how fearless you are with taking on projects no one else will touch. The lobster quilt is adorable!

    1. Thank you so much for the tops. They will help me reach my annual goal this year. It Jennifer to eyeball them in person and decide on borders for the ones that just needed to be a bit bigger.

I loved the lobsters. I guess I’m the only one in my Linus group that enjoys campy quilts, lol.

  4. So glad you had a quilty thing with our friends!
Those Linus quilts are wonderful! Yes, that is all we do…but things up and sew them together. But we do it with style!
You sounded like a Christmas carole there for a minute….”Cut it on the Accuquillt; nice and crisp and even.” The butterflies are adorable.
I don’t find the lobsters weird. Yes, challenge accepted. And boats? Yeah, that could go too. Somebody has to make the lobster quilt.
To get that much done with that much fun just can’t be beat! So happy for you all.
