1st – the title instantly made me laugh! One day I will make it to a quilt fest/con/market! Great idea for the doors! I have popcorn ceiling and fear the process of taking it off. We have found over the 20+ years here that NOTHING is simple nor goes as it should. Thank to the previous owner – a self proclaimed handy man…NOT! Looking forward to the pattern on Friday!

I always enjoy a quilt show, they are so inspiring! The Cherrywood Challenge Prince tour was there, which I just realized isn’t at all on the Dallas Instagram! We got to see more beautiful Prince quilts. There are tour dates here: http://cherrywoodfabrics.bigcartel.com/prince. I hope you get the chance to see some of these in person. A few of them gave me goosebumps!!
We removed the popcorn ceiling in our smaller bathroom and it was easy peasy. We wet it and it fell right off! The work on this ceiling was entirely due to my approximately 29 or 30-year-old self not knowing any better! I officially have a different “if you could go back and tell your younger self” thing to say!

I love the layout of the back of the quilt. And love the front too. I can’t wait to see your quilting. Think you are so brave to take on that remodel. Hopefully your hubby will let us have a room tour when it’s finished.
I love that you said the color out side the lines quilt was done in the 17 and under group. Nice to see the quilting world is inspiring the younger generation.
I’ve might have made a paper Pieced pattern while mom was in surgery for Star Trek. Just need to test it. 🤓

Oh, he’ll absolutely let us have a tour. He’s a gentle giant and he’s letting me do a lot of the decorative type stuff because I LOVE doing it. 🙂
There were some great quilts made by younger people at the show. The university where my daughter got her degree also had a display there, which I totally forgot to mention. Their fiber arts class made a bunch of small quilts and they were really good. They were all beginning quilters. 🙂

I love that quilt so much, front and back! Also I had to lol at the moomoomoomoomoo fabric. Sometimes we buy things and then 10 years later we are like “whyyyyyyyyyyy?” Those are some lofty usage goals. I’m working hard to not buy any fabric this year, so I should probably get busy using it up!
I hope that door works out, that would be so perfect to have it for your sewing room.

I think someone must have given me the “moo” fabric. I don’t ever by four yards of anything unless it’s for a costume or quilt back!

I hope the door works, too. Our house has settled and things are kind of wonky so it might take some hardware adjustment, but I’m up for it!

The remodel is definitely a guy’s study and there will be much archeology going on! I offered to paint a pyramid on the wall but he declined!
Ah, poor Hannah! You can tell her what my dad told me: when you grow up, you can have as many pets as you want. I guess you can tell I took that to heart! 😉
I’m thinking I might load my quilt today and start quilting because I REALLY want to!

Oh I love your Swap Quilt front & back! My plans for mine involve making sure I use all of the strips whether I the front, back, or binding. I really can’t start until I wrap up a few of my other projects. I am looking forward to it.
Having lots diy of my own going right now, I feel ya. I hate painting for that same reason. I can’t do both sewing and painting without aggravating my wrist and hands. Please do g9ve a tour when you are done. I’m sure it will be a nice space for him. I love the doors becoming Art work. I should have saved the closet doors from Ohio. They were a mural from Draw Me A Star.

I mean, I SHOULD NOT have started this quilt and I have so many other things going on, but it was begging to be made and I am weak that way!
Speaking of DIY, I’m off to paint the trim! This is going so much more slowly than I usually like, but there’s no urgency, really. When it’s done, it’s done!

Was your daughters room actual cement or painted to look like cement blocks? Because if It was painted that must have been awesome and a ton of work!!
I’ve been doing the same thing with my stash. Use up what I have so I can bring some new fresh fabrics in to play with. Backs use up a bunch of fabric so that’s always nice. All that Mooo fabric is crazy but It adds a little fun to the back. From here It doesn’t even look like there is any fabric in those spots lol.

A MUCH younger version of myself textured the walls and hand drew all those bricks in and then faux painted about six different colors on top. It was a lot of work, but she got over 16 years out of it. 🙂
The moo fabric is the mystery of my quilt! I have NO idea where it came from!
The other thing I’ve been doing is cutting all leftover quilt back pieces into 2 1/2″ strips. Some of it becomes the binding for whatever quilt it’s from (especially Linus quilts!) and some of it goes in my box of strips. I don’t know if I mentioned that, but it has kept really helped corral oddball leftover pieces!

I love the murals. The fat lady-how cool! You and Jennifer R both do so much home repairs- I’m in awe. thank goodness for Rich. I don’t like to do that. Although I did a lot of painting when we remodeled the house so we could afford wooden window blinds. That was worth it.
Your quilt looks great. The back is fun, too.

So much reno work! It’ll be very nice when it’s done, I’m sure, but it always feels like a lot when you’re in the middle of it 😀

I am trying super hard to use up my fabric. There is stuff in there that’s going to age out if I don’t use it up!
