  1. The Giants throw is pretty and I bet he uses it a LOT. That’s very thoughtful. I’m am HURTING from laughing. Sewing your cut 9-patches back into 9-patches is something I totally would do. And then I would decide it was meant to be a 9-patch quilt. So I admired you for sticking with the plan and more work. A lot of my days are like that lately. I have made more mistakes on Hocus Pocus than any other project. I don’t know Hubby, but I’m guessing he does like the quilt, he doesn’t like that he has a use for it. Once he’s using it I bet he’ll love it. I know I like it. When you give it to him, tell him the bland side is the front and the wild side is the back that no one will see. See how long it takes before he’s using it “backwards”.
You made a lot of progress for all else you have going on. He’s lucky to have you to help with paperwork.
You keep quilting (it’s my therapy and it helps), and keep talking to us.
    Hugs.

  2. Sweetie, I know (from experience) how much a cuddly quilt is enjoyed during chemo. I made do with the blankets they had on hand at the oncology office and was happy to have them, but I would have loved to have a hand-made quilt. The Giants quilt is great. I know he will appreciate it when he is all wrapped up in love with it.
Take care of yourself while you are taking care of him. Part of taking care of yourself is going to be your crafting. It is nice that you have your quilting for home and knitting to take with you for various appointments.
Sending you and your hubby love.

  3. Your hubby will love to have a blanket just for him to have with him, and at least one side that is fleece is good I think, nice and soft.

I need to start thinking about pulling fabric for my strips, too. This is going to be a really fun swap.

  4. I love that you’ve already made so much progress on your hubby’s quilt. It’s such a great idea to have a one made with love ready to go for treatments. I will be thinking lots of good thoughts for you and your hubby.

Yay, I’m so glad to see you’ve got your strips ready to go! I really can’t wait to see what everyone chooses for our swap. 🙂

  5. The quilt for your husband looks great. I agree with Mary – tell him the back is the front and the front is the back 😀

It’s both funny and tragic that you sewed those nine-patches back together as they were. Isn’t that just life, some days.

Thinking good thoughts for your and the husband and your kids right now!
