I’m so impresed with that parrot. Can’t wait to see photos of the costumes on you both. I also need to know your pirate and parrot names (because I’m like that, you know).
Pillow ticking is perfect for pirate pants. And the jacket is amazing! Again, can’t wait to see the parrot and the veleteen pirate.
Have SOOOO much fun at your party!

Ahhh I can’t wait to see your photos. They look so amazing! I couldn’t believe how fast you posted the finished jacket. You must have been burning the midnight oil on that one.
The button trick is a fab idea. What a great time saver.
Have a crafty week and fun at the party.

That jacket was an all day project. I started at 10 am and finished just shy of 10 pm. It was a LONG day!!

Oh wow, everything turned out great. I love the mattress ticking that was a great idea. And that button trick , who would have thought it? So he’s just going to wear the jacket open but a belt or sash holding everything together? And what inspired costuming on the parrot. Just fabulous!
Those ornaments/tags are too cute. I’m sure the kids will love them. Kids love personalized things!
Our xmas party is tonight at the Casino at the Downs. I need to leave a plastic bag at the door so when I come home I can strip my smoky clothes into the bag and jump into the shower to wash casino smoke off.

Yep, the jacket will be open and he has a belt and a pile of scarves to choose from for sashing. He even borrowed a costume sword from Eric, so he’ll have a sword belt on, too! The pillow ticking was a good find. We went through ALL the fabric aisle at Joann with no luck finding a stripe that wasn’t pastels or brights. Fortunately, I had a coupon, because ticking isn’t cheap.
I’m making more ornaments today. I love making those and am really glad I kept my ridiculous stash of felt from when the kids were little!!
Have fun at the party! ♥
