TTMT Video

TTMT #288 – jewells68 – November 20, 2018 – PreFestival Crafting

In which I show off a couple of projects I did right before leaving for Festival, so that I had some quilty-themed clothes to wear on my trip. I will definitely do the raw edge applique again. Maybe on a hoodie. And I had forgotten how fast and easy freezer paper stenciling can be. Need to do more. Also, it’s amazing how much you can get done… even a TTMT video when you wake up at 4:30am. #readyforanap

  1. Love both your shirts. I know what you mean about getting up early. Sometimes I can get several hours of good quilting in before work and it makes me feel like my day is complete no matter how the work-day goes.

    1. I am currently sharing my car with my daughter, and next week she has a couple of shifts that start at 4:30am… I’m trying to decide if I get up that early and drop her off or just let her take the car. If I drop her off I will have at least 2 hours of crafting time before work! Actually I will probably be up either way because her alarm could wake the dead, so either way I’ll get some quilty time.

  2. The fandom sweatshirt looks great… love that you had some fandom fabrics to use for it too! (Especially the dalek – that’s so fun!)

The black around the paint really makes the words pop… such a big difference from one picture to the other.

  3. I had fun doing the fandom quilter sweatshirt, and it’s super cozy so I wear it a lot around the house now that it’s colder.

It’s actually purple fabric marker around all of the letters on the tee except the word “scraps” which I used a different color to outline each letter of that word because, well, “scraps” lol

    1. Years ago I bought a GIANT sponge at the dollar store I think, or maybe big lots, that is intended for washing cars, so it’s over half the size of my head! When I stencil, I just rip a little bit of that sponge off by hand and that is what i use as my pounce. It works great. And when you are done you just throw away your pounce. I squeeze the paint right onto the sponge, no need for a tray or plate or anything. It goes super fast and applies really nicely.
