TTMT#62-Not enough time

Hi everyone,

I thought I would have enough time to do a video, but time just slipped away.  I’m heading to Maryland tomorrow with my daughter to rendezvous with my sister & mother in law, niece and nephew for a couple of days in Oceanside.  My niece is dancing in one of those big dance competitions and sister in law got a condo near the beach.

Last week we had a guest speaker at our guild meeting and then a Thursday workshop learning how to use the Westalee/Sew Steady rulers to quilt.  My brain was fried after a full day of that.  I think I’m going to practice using these rulers on my PPV blocks from last year and continue with the quilt as you go.  I also found some of my Creative Memories cutting templates…I wonder if I can figure out a way to use them with the special foot.  It would give me more options.

Had a purge of items for a yard sale on Friday.  My daughter made it seem like “Sophie’s Choice”. “Mom, you have two of these, decide which one stays, and which one goes.”  Now I need her ruthlessness to go through my sewing room.

I think I’ll take some hexies with me. It’s not my favorite thing to do, but it will give me something to do.

Have a happy crafting week.

  1. Wow I love the quilting , I bought a ruler foot and a westalee ruler a couple of months ago, I have tried it once on my machine , but I really need a better base on my machine and a good service. I will have to get some lessons from you when your back.

I thought about hexies recently but am not a fan of all the preparation that you have to do , much rather just take some embroidery .

    Have a great trip xx

  2. It looks like you learned a lot at your class! That will be very fun to experiment with and I can’t wait to see what you do with it on your PPV (wee bit biased on that one!).

Have a lovely trip. It sounds very relaxing!

  3. I wanted to try that on my frame machine but am not sure how the heck I could do it without a third hand, lol. Look forward to seeing your progress with those.

Sounds like a lovely trip! I second the embroidery, It’s relaxing, at least until you stab yourself, lol.
