  1. Woo hoo for something to show!! That Outlander block is fabulous.

I’m glad your quilt gifts went over so well – but how could they not. The Christmas fabric is lovely. I’ll hold your feet to the fire if you’ll do the same for me.

Sounds like you and your daughter are going to have a busy busy busy couple of months.

Try to stay warm and get some crafting done. See you soon.

  2. Happy New Year!!

It’s nice to be early sometimes. Now you don’t have to worry about trying to fit in a video.

Your new Winter neutrals are gorgeous.

It’s seems like the time for some of us to rearrange our craft areas. Those cubbies sound like an amazing deal. They can get a bit pricey but I love them organizing things.

You’re heading into a crazy but wonderful time of your Daughter’s life. So exciting to be checking out colleges and preparing for the future. So scary for Mom and Dad.

  3. Happy New Year! You got some lovely fabric. Joann’s has some really lovely fabric. When it comes to yardage that’s usually where I buy it. I don’t like their fat quarters as much as their yardage.

Sounds like you have some interesting plans for your space, looking forward to see what you do. I’m still not 100% happy with mine. I think ultimately I’m going to look for a machine quilting frame that is 7 or 8 feet long, maximum. 5′ is too small and 10′ (which is how mine is set up right now) is just too big. I can barely move in there. Those cubbies sound great if you need a lot of shelves.

Good luck with your daughter. I have a friend whose son is in his first year of college at Bennington College right there in Vermont and they actually live in Utah, I hear he loves it there.

    1. Jewels!!!! I literally live 5 minutes from Bennington College! It’s REALLY cold here right now. I hope your friend’s son packed some warm clothes!

I’m going to have to wait a few more days to get help from my hubby to move the cubbies downstairs. He’s unfortunately dealing with heating isssues at the middle & high school. He didn’t get much of a Christmas vacation. Pipes keep bursting. I’ve decided I prefer snow to cold.

  4. Happy New Year! I just love all of the fabric goodies you got. Our fabric selections here has been dismal. But the quilt shops have cottoned on now and is importing some new fabric lines. It is still cheaper for me to buy online overseas and wait for it in the mail. Sigh.

  5. Oh my, the Outlander block is huge! Seeing you hold him up really gives it context!

Yay for well received gifts! I’m so glad to hear your recipients enjoyed your handmade goodness!

Oh, those Christmas fabrics are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see what you make with them.

I’ve found that Joann’s has a variety of fabric qualities, I’ve even bought Kona and Robert Kaufman there! My opinion is to use what you like. If it works for you then it does.

I feel you on needing a change in your sewing space. I’ve done some tweaking, but I’m still not satisfied. Cubbies are on my list of considerations!

Best of luck to you daughter. Senior year is just too crazy!

  6. The Outlander block looks great… you make good fabric choices with the paper-piecing.

Your quilt recipients are going to love those quilts, it’s such an amazing gift to receive.

Good luck with the move around of stuff in your crafty room! It’s so much work sometimes, but if you can find a better layout it’ll be so worth it.

Sucky about the cold weather.. has it let up? We also had some brutal cold over Christmas/New Years and then we got some very very warm weather and now we’re back to the awful cold.
