Good to see you again. I like the quilting you did on that big quilt, it is really lovely.
That quote from Mr Rogers makes the round every tragedy because it is so true. In every tragedy there are those that jump in to help regardless of their own danger. It’s something more positive to focus on.
Also meant to add that I totally would have taken those instructions to mean the same thing you did on the bag. That’s just poor instructions right there, picture or not.
I love that quilt; your quilting is beautiful. I was never into “sampler” quilts until I did the Paper Piecing Vintage and fell in love. I’ve made two of them (so far). They are like the Project of Doom – can’t make just one!
The instructions were VERY poorly written! I wonder how many people have done the exact thing you did. Gee!
I’m glad to hear your mom is hanging in there. I know she appreciates everything you do for her.
I would have read the tote bag directions as all 4 corners too. I’ve made dozens of totes but since I don’t read ahead I would have thought it was some new technique that I’ve not heard of before.
I’ve heard look for the helpers before and have always liked that idea. Better to focus on the good instead of the evil that we will never understand.
You’re not wrong about that pattern… it’s pretty misleading. I like to think I’d have caught that mistake because I’ve made a bunch of bags, but I probably would have done the same thing. You could fold and stitch down those corners and call it a design decision…

Thank you. Also, I’m glad to hear that I’m not alone in my interpretation of those directions.
